All children travel for free

All children under the age of 16 travel free aboard our Airport Express trains, provided they are accompanied by a person over the age of 16 (regardless of ticket type). The kids under the age of 16 do not need a ticket. They will be let through the barriers at Oslo Airport by our security staff.

Prams and Pushchairs

Every Airport Express train has a carriage fitted with straps for securing prams and push-chairs. This is the rear carriage when you travel to the airport, and the front carriage when you travel from the airport. If you have a foldable pram or pushchair that can fit into a luggage shelf, you may sit wherever you like aboard the train. Our staff will assist if you have any questions, and of course there is no charge for the pram or pushchair.

Children travelling alone

Travelling alone, stepping out on an adventure! This is an exciting experience for a young globetrotter. Nevertheless, it is important that you, as a parent, feel your children are safe. The norwegian "Ombudsman for Children" recommends a 10-year age limit for children travelling on their own. Flytoget supports this recommendation, while pointing out that it is up to parents to evaluate their children’s maturity.

It is a good idea for an adult to accompany the child the first couple of times they make a journey, so that the child becomes accustomed with everything. This will also allow the parents to form an impression of whether their children feel confident enough and can manage by themselves.

If you would like to know more about how to make the journey easier for adults and children alike, we recommend that you read the story about Felix and Fiona on Oslo Airport’s website here.
